Basketball Game Preview: Eagle Valley Devils vs. Battle Mountain Huskies

The Eagle Valley Devils will take on the Battle Mountain Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Eagle Valley is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Eagle Valley fought the good fight in their overtime game against Summit on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to the Tigers. The Devils were up 40-20 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Meanwhile, Battle Mountain unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grand Junction Central.

Eagle Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Battle Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Everything came up roses for Eagle Valley against Battle Mountain in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 66-30 win. In that contest, Eagle Valley amassed a halftime lead of 32-11, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
