Baseball Recap: Normandy Has No Trouble Against Bay

Normandy got themselves on the board against Bay on Tuesday, but Bay never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 11-0 victory. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Evan Lucas made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Normandy is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-12 otherwise. Lucas was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Normandy got a massive performance out of Andrew Sikon, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The Invaders are undefeated when Sikon posts two or more runs, but 5-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Victor Reyes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Normandy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Normandy pushed their record up to 8-13 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.3 runs. As for Bay, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Normandy will square off against North at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bay, they will challenge Rocky River at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
