Football Recap: Hammonton Takes a Loss

Hammonton extended their losing streak to nine on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They fell 21-14 to the Lacey Township Lions. While the Blue Devils had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Lions 7-0.

As for Lacey Township, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 28 points in those games.

Lacey Township got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joseph Geiger out in front who rushed for 71 yards, and also threw for 54 yards and one touchdown. Those 54 passing yards gave Geiger a new career-high. Joey Davis was in the mix too, providing Lacey Township with two scores.

Looking ahead, Hammonton will challenge Clearview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lacey Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
