Baseball Recap: Washington Extends Winning Streak to Four

Washington entered their tilt with Grace Academy on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Knights 13-2. Considering the Patriots have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brayden Edwards was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Smith, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Edwards wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Washington lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Washington's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Grace Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will venture away from home to square off against Sherando at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Warriors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Grace Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against GVCS Broadfording at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
