Basketball Game Preview: Allen East Mustangs vs. Botkins Trojans

The Allen East Mustangs will challenge the Botkins Trojans at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Allen East's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Botkins has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Allen East will bounce into Saturday's game after beating Spencerville, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Allen East secured a 39-34 W over Spencerville on Thursday. The 39-point effort marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Botkins was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 43-39 to Houston.

Botkins' loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Allen East, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Everything went Allen East's way against Botkins in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Allen East made off with a 50-27 win. Does Allen East have another victory up their sleeve, or will Botkins turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
