Softball Recap: St. Ignace Comes Up Short

If St. Ignace was riding high fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Boyne Falls on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Saints lost 17-3 to the Pellston Hornets on Thursday. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

St. Ignace saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elsie Sayles, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

St. Ignace dropped their record down to 4-15 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Pellston, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.

While St. Ignace had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
