Baseball Game Preview: Binghamton Patriots vs. Vestal Golden Bears

For the second straight game, Binghamton will face off against Vestal. The Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the Golden Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Binghamton is looking for their season's first victory.

Binghamton fell victim to Vestal and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 19-0 to the Golden Bears.

For Vestal's part, Landon Pancoast made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over 5.1 innings pitched. Pancoast has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Gavin Brady was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-5. Colin Fimbres was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-6.

Vestal was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Binghamton only posted a batting average of .087.

Binghamton's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Vestal, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.
