Preview: Scott's Branch Eagles vs. Manning Monarchs
Having just played yesterday, the Scott's Branch Eagles will get right back to it and host the Manning Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. on December 29th.
On Thursday, things could have been worse for Scott's Branch, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-54 loss to Lake City.
Scott's Branch's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Nigel Lawson, who scored 17 points, and Jordan Kind who scored 16 points. Lawson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zay Fulton, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Manning entered their tilt with Hartsville with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Manning enjoyed a cozy 78-61 victory over Hartsville on Wednesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Scott's Branch now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Manning, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3.
Scott's Branch ended up a good deal behind Manning in their previous meeting on December 9th, losing 55-41. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Manning's Tavion Carter, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.
