Volleyball Recap: Caprock Academy Eagles vs. Del Norte Tigers

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Caprock Academy can now relate to. They came up short against the Del Norte Tigers on Saturday, falling 3-0.

Caprock Academy took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-17, 27-25.

Despite the loss, Caprock Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Taylor Waalkes had 14 digs. Those 14 digs set a new season-high mark for Waalkes.

Del Norte's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kailee Gallegos led the charge by getting 17 digs and 29 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Brown, who had 16 kills and 14 digs.
