Basketball Recap: Clinton Takes a Loss

Clinton came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Center Yellowjackets, falling 79-53. The Cardinals lost against the Yellowjackets in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 80-30 score last time.

Clinton's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-9. As for Center, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Clinton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-51 win against Odessa on the 11th. As for Center, they are taking a road trip to challenge Warrensburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
