Softball Recap: Alivia Shetler and Brenna Figley Secure Win for Crestview

Crestview had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt David Anderson on Wednesday. The Rebels never let the Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won six matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Emma Snyder made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Snyder was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Crestview let Brenna Figley and Alivia Shetler run wild. Figley went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Shetler went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Figley has posted since back in April. Lainey Milhoan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Crestview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .577. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in six consecutive games.

Crestview's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for David Anderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crestview will welcome LaBrae at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season. As for David Anderson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East Palestine at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
