Football Recap: George County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

George County was the 26-22 winner over West Jones when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rebels were outmatched by the Mustangs and fell 55-21.

Wyatt Spidahl threw for 42 yards on five of 14 attempts. On the ground, Branden Gautier rushed for 118 yards.

West Jones' win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Holmes, who rushed for 256 yards and four TDs while picking up 16.0 yards per carry. Holmes was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 69 yards. Another player making a difference was Tootie Lindsey, who threw for 304 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.

George County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for West Jones, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season.

George County didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 30-6 win against Jim Hill on the 17th. As for West Jones, they have also already played their next game, a 28-19 victory against Terry on the 17th.
