Volleyball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield was the 2-1 winner over Edwards County when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Mules took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions on Thursday. The Mules have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Fairfield was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Edwards County work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-16.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Edwards County, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Fairfield will take on rival Flora at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Edwards County is set to square off against their familiar foe Carmi-White County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
