Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Bishop Timon-St. Jude

Bishop Timon-St. Jude won the last time they faced University Prep and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bishop Timon-St. Jude Tigers walked away with a 75-66 victory over the University Prep Griffins. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Bishop Timon-St. Jude's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaron Hicks led the charge by going 6 of 9 on his way to 21 points. The dominant performance also gave Hicks a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Damien Johnson, who went 5 for 11 en route to 18 points.

Bishop Timon-St. Jude smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

Bishop Timon-St. Jude pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 87.0 points per game. As for University Prep, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Bishop Timon-St. Jude will welcome Williamsville South at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for University Prep, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Syracuse Academy of Science at 2:30 p.m. on January 25, 2025.
