Basketball Recap: Fort Meade Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Fort Meade lost against Lakeland Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Fort Meade Miners took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakeland Christian Vikings. The Miners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lakeland Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kiya Boyce led the charge by putting up ten points in addition to six boards and five assists. Boyce has been hot, having also posted four or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Collette Zavada, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Fort Meade's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for Lakeland Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Fort Meade has already played their next game (against Tenoroc), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lakeland Christian has already played their next matchup, a 36-31 victory against Bartow on the 17th.
