Softball Game Preview: Conway Wampus Cats vs. Bryant Hornets

Conway is 2-8 against Bryant since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Wampus Cats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Conway 3.6, Bryant 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

If Conway beats Bryant with 11 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Wampus Cats beat Central on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Wampus Cats haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Bryant faced Cabot in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Hornets fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. The contest marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bryant fell to 15-1. As for Conway, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.

Conway suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Bryant in their previous matchup on April 1st. Can the Wampus Cats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
