Basketball Recap: Orange County Gets the Win

If Goochland wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Orange County, they should've done a better job of containing Tayla Johnson. The Orange County Fighting Hornets breezed by the Goochland Bulldogs to the tune of 60-16 on Tuesday thanks in part to Johnson, who went 9 of 19 on her way to 23 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Laylianah McBrayer, who posted two points and ten boards. She has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last four times she's played.

Orange County now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Goochland, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Orange County has already played their next match, a 48-42 win against Fluvanna County on the 29th. As for Goochland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 42-32 defeat against Lunenburg Central on the 29th.
