Recap: Comanche Indians vs. Purcell Dragons
The Comanche Indians lost against the Purcell Dragons back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Comanche took a serious blow against Purcell, falling 35-7. While losing is never fun, Comanche can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Purcell is ranked 78th).
Boston Knowles was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 87 yards and four touchdowns. Purcell also got a significant boost from Carter Bennett, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.
This is the second loss in a row for Comanche and nudges their season record down to 2-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 3.5 points per game. As for Purcell, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-2.
Comanche does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Purcell will be playing in front of their home fans against Holdenville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Holdenville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
