Softball Recap: King's Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, King's Academy finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

King's Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kiersten Zimmerman, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

With the defeat, King's Academy broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, their record is now 8-6.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as King's Academy Lions challenge Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on April 1st. King's Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Somerset Academy - Canyons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. After both having extra time off, Dr. Joaquin Garcia and Wellington will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on April 1st.
