Torin Bennett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Santa Fe Christian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Muscat, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Madeline Dolan also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Santa Fe Christian's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Bishop's, their win bumped their record up to 4-1-1.
Santa Fe Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bishop's hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .459. It's a different story for Santa Fe Christian, though, as they've only averaged .221. Will they be able to contain Bishop's hitters?
