Volleyball Recap: Osceola Warriors vs. Wesley Chapel Wildcats

Osceola extended their postseason success on Saturday against Wesley Chapel. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wesley Chapel Wildcats 3-2. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Osceola had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 24-26, 25-20, 25-21, 16-14.

Holland Downey paced Osceola's offense, picking up 15 kills. Downey got some help from Jayla Gwalthney and her 20 assists. Gwalthney was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Osceola has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for Wesley Chapel, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-14.

Osceola has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Port Charlotte on the 30th. Wesley Chapel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
