Oxford is 8-1 against Torrington since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the Raiders at 3:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Oxford has six straight victories, Torrington has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Thursday, Oxford made easy work of Wolcott and carried off a 12-4 win. Fans of the Wolverines have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Meanwhile, Torrington fell victim to Naugatuck and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 2-0.

Oxford's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 13.5 runs thus far. As for Torrington, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Everything went Oxford's way against Torrington in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Oxford made off with a 15-0 win. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
