Basketball Recap: Palo Verde Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Arbor View, Palo Verde was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They secured a 58-53 W over the Las Vegas Wildcats. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

When it comes to explaining why Las Vegas lost, don't look at Sariyah Johnson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 27 points and 25 boards. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 13 or more in the last seven games she's played. Mya Hodgson was another key player, going 6 for 12 on her way to 13 points.

Palo Verde's victory bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Las Vegas, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Palo Verde will be playing at home against Desert Oasis at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Las Vegas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
