Soccer Recap: Pine Tree Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three contests, Pine Tree finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They came up short against the Kilgore Bulldogs, falling 3-0. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Pine Tree couldn't quite close it out.

Pine Tree moved to 5-6-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Kilgore, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pine Tree is set to square off against their familiar foe Spring Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kilgore will face off against rival Carthage at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
