Volleyball Recap: Bear River Comes Up Short

Bear River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jordan Beetdiggers. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Beetdiggers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

Bear River's offense was headlined by Makell Garn and Brynlee Garn, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Preslee Montgomery and her nine assists. Robbi Marble and Jenna Hamblin kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Bear River's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Jordan, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Bear River will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Manti at 10:10 a.m. As for Jordan, they will square off against Judge Memorial Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
