            Football Recap: Ainsworth Bulldogs vs. West Holt Huskies        
        
		
        
        
            Ainsworth was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss  dating back to last season. They were five  points away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   32-27 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Holt Huskies. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing  40-38 to the Huskies when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 Despite the  defeat, Ainsworth saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Jacob Ortner rushed for 42 yards and one  TD, and also picked up 30 receiving yards and one  touchdown.  Chris Fernandez helped out on the ground, rushing for 97 yards.
Ainsworth's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for West Holt, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-2.
 Coming up, Ainsworth will head out on the road to  square off against  Neligh-Oakdale  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 31  points  every time they've taken the field this season. As for West Holt, they will take on Arcadia/Loup City at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. The  contest will  give the Huskies their first taste of in-conference action this season.
