Basketball Game Preview: Idalia Wolves vs. Prairie Mustangs

The Idalia Wolves and the Prairie Mustangs will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Idalia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Weldon Valley 50-21. The victory was nothing new for the Wolves as they're now sitting on 12 straight.

Idalia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Krista Wieser, who posted 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Wieser is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ailyn Monarrez, who put up nine points in addition to eight boards and seven steals.

Idalia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Prairie got the win against Otis on Friday by a conclusive 54-32. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Prairie's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Idalia, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.

Idalia beat Prairie 49-37 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will Idalia repeat their success, or does Prairie have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
