Game recap: Colquitt County High School Football Team bests Valdosta

MOULTRIE, Ga. - After taking the lead in the fourth quarter, Colquitt County (Moultrie, Ga.) held on for a 17-10 victory over Valdosta (Ga.) on Saturday. The difference for the Packers was that Sihiem King ran for a touchdown.

After taking the lead on a passing touchdown, the Wildcats went into halftime with a 10-3 lead. The Packers took the lead for good with a King touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Despite scoring six points in the third, Colquitt County still trailed by one point going into the fourth quarter. But eight points in the fourth helped CC pull out the victory.

With the win the Moultrie school extended its winning streak to six games. Colquitt County defeated Brunswick 41-16 last week.

Valdosta's lone touchdown came on a 15-yard pass in the second quarter.



The Packers came into the game allowing 11.4 points per game.

The defeat comes as a step back for Valdosta, which notched a 31-21 victory over Tift County in its previous outing.

In a AAAAAA Region 1 game next week Colquitt County (7-1) takes on Coffee, and Valdosta (5-3) will go up against Brunswick also in a AAAAAA Region 1 game.
