Basketball Recap: Chico Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Davis Parent and Carter Bynoe-Cester + How To Watch

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Thursday. Chico fell just short of West Park by a score of 57-54. If Chico was looking for revenge after losing 61-51 to West Park when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Chico's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carter Bynoe-Cester, who went 5-for-9 en route to 14 points and seven rebounds, and Davis Parent, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 15 points and five boards.

West Park got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Yosheyah Alves out in front who went 5-for-9 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chimobi Nnaji, who posted nine points along with seven boards and three steals.

Chico's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for West Park, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Chico has already played their next contest, a 71-60 win against Lincoln on the 5th. As for West Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-58 defeat against Whitney on the 5th.
