The Skyline Prep Bengals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way 100-28. While losing is never fun, Skyline Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way is ranked sixth).
TJ Clark continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way, almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Clark continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Malachi Long was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Skyline Prep has been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 17 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-22 record this season. As for Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way, the victory was the 21st in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-1.
