Basketball Recap: Grayville Comes Up Short

Grayville lost against Carmi-White County back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Grayville Bison took a 73-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carmi-White County Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (57), the Bison still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Grayville still got an impressive performance from Zach Leavens, who posted 33 points. That was a full 51.6% of Grayville's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Kleinschmidt, who put up 14 points.

Grayville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Carmi-White County, they moved to 8-12 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Grayville will challenge Patoka at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Carmi-White County has already played their next contest (against Eldorado), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
