Softball Recap: Armijo Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Johnson, Armijo was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Valley Vikings by a score of 12-8. Considering the Royals' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Khloe Salas, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Meyloni Walker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Armijo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Armijo's win bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Armijo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 36-9 loss against Fairfield on the 30th. As for Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-1 defeat against West Campus on the 1st.
