Baseball Recap: Wiley Takes a Loss

Wiley blew McClave out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday McClave got their revenge. Wiley fell just short of McClave by a score of 8-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Rhett McDonald was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2. McDonald is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Kendale Mauch was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Wiley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .529 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Wiley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4-1. McClave has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: McClave beat Wiley by a score of 19-4 later that day.
