Recap: Parkdale Panthers vs. Bowie Bulldogs

The Parkdale Panthers lost against the Bowie Bulldogs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Parkdale received a tough blow as they fell 65-51 to Bowie. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Parkdale in their matchups with Bowie: they've now lost seven in a row.

Parkdale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mark Freeland, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavonte Martin, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Something new happened on Friday as Martin saw his first action of the season, playing 20 minutes against Bowie. Martin made the most of the opportunity, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Parkdale's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Bowie, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkdale will take on Flowers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Parkdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Bowie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Bowie's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
