Basketball Recap: Pateros Beats Curlew for Their Third Straight Victory

Pateros had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 52-43 win over the Curlew Cougars. This was payback for the Billygoats/Nannies, who suffered a 42-37 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, Curlew saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Annika Baker went 8 of 18 on her way to 24 points and eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baker has scored all season.

Pateros has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Curlew, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Pateros will head out to face off against Soap Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Curlew, they are taking a road trip to take on Selkirk at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
