Basketball Game Preview: Snake River Panthers vs. Sugar-Salem Diggers

Snake River and Sugar-Salem are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Snake River Panthers will square off against the Sugar-Salem Diggers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Snake River sitting on four straight victories and Sugar-Salem on three.

It was a proper cat-fight when Snake River challenged South Fremont on Saturday. Snake River came out on top against South Fremont by a score of 54-42.

Meanwhile, Sugar-Salem had just enough and edged Ririe out 52-49 on Friday.

Sugar-Salem pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Snake River, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Everything came up roses for Snake River against Sugar-Salem in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 69-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Snake River since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
