Basketball Recap: Beachside Comes Up Short

With Beachside's effective field goal percentage at 100% and Tocoi Creek's at 45% on Thursday, the final result was to be expected on Thursday. The Beachside Barracudas had to suffer through a 69-29 loss at the hands of the Tocoi Creek Toros. The Barracudas haven't had much luck with the Toros recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Beachside got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Michael Rocco and Maddox Hunstad, who each put up six points.

Tocoi Creek was led to victory by Daniel Figueroa and Javares Rickerson. Figueroa went 8 of 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points, while Rickerson went 7 for 10 to rack up 18 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. The dominant performance gave Rickerson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was King Mcfadden, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Beachside's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Tocoi Creek, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-3.

Beachside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 46-42 victory against Englewood on the 31st. As for Tocoi Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-46 win against Nease on the 31st.
