It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Gaston Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Cary Christian Knights 10-9. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won four contests in a row.

The team relied heavily on Noah Cooper, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Meridian Leffew was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Gaston Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Gaston Christian pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Cary Christian, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-6.
