Preview: La Cueva vs. Eldorado

Both Eldorado (7-4) and La Cueva (9-1) have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Friday at 7:00 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. It should turn out to be a fierce showdown as Eldorado is ranked 8th in the MaxPreps state rankings and La Cueva is ranked 2nd.

Last week, Eldorado took on West Mesa. With 28 points in the first half, Eldorado started the game off on a good foot. That put it at a 28 - 13 advantage. The offense continued to do well in the second half, scoring 28 points. At the end of the day, Eldorado walked away with a breezy 56 - 35 win.

Meanwhile, La Cueva has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling eight) after its most recent game. It kept its opponent Clovis off the scoreboard entirely two weeks ago, winning the match 27 - 0. La Cueva had two big standouts, as junior Dylan Summer tossed the ball for 205 yards and two TDs, while junior D'andre Williams ran for 74 yards and also punched in one touchdown. Williams should be a familiar name as he has been a major contributor for La Cueva in the past three games.

With both Eldorado and La Cueva swaggering in after impressive performances, we'll find out which team will step up to teach the other some humility.
