Flag Football Recap: Saint Francis Comes Up Short

Saint Francis was the 7-6 winner over St. Ignatius College Preparatory when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lancers fell 13-6 to the Wildcats on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Lancers have lost by exactly seven points.

Saint Francis has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7-1 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.8 points on average over those games. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Saint Francis will take on rival Menlo School at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Lancers 11.4, the Knights 10) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, St. Ignatius College Preparatory is set to challenge their familiar foe Sacred Heart Prep at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
