Basketball Recap: Roxboro Community Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Voyager Academy, Roxboro Community was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Eno River Academy Bobcats by a score of 62-55. The score was all tied up 31-31 at the break, but the Bulldogs were the better team in the second half.

Eno River Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sammer Day, who went 6 for 13 en route to 20 points. Day continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jack Kroothoep was another key player, putting up 14 points and four steals.

Roxboro Community's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Eno River Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9.

Roxboro Community will square off against Bartlett Yancey at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eno River Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-50 win against Triangle Math & Science on the 5th.
