Baseball Recap: Pomfret School's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Pomfret School had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Episcopal Maroon 14-4 on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Griffins as it put an end to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Pomfret School got a massive performance out of Robert Ellsworth, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Alex Trapani was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Episcopal is on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pomfret School will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Canterbury School at 4:00 p.m. on April 2nd. This will be Pomfret School's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Episcopal, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Gonzaga at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
