Basketball Recap: Frankfort Wildcats vs. Blue Valley Rams

Frankfort managed to keep up with Blue Valley until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Frankfort Wildcats lost 54-30 to the Blue Valley Rams. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Blue Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryleigh Brockman out in front who posted ten points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Brockman is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Bralynn Brockman was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Frankfort dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Blue Valley, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankfort will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Washington County on January 31st. Washington County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Blue Valley, they will take on Hanover at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Hanover will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Blue Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
