Softball Recap: Cherokee Comes Up Short

Cherokee and Covenant Christian squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Cherokee had to settle for second. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Surprisingly, this marked the Indians' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Cherokee has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-24 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Covenant Christian, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-20.

As of now, neither Cherokee nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
