Stony Point waltzed into their match on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Round Rock Dragons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-0 back in March.

Sophia Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ava Perlinger was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Kaiser, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Stony Point's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Round Rock, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.

Stony Point and Round Rock should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Tigers will challenge Vandegrift at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (128 vs. 861). Meanwhile, Round Rock (ranked 410th) will meet McNeil (ranked 833rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
