Basketball Recap: Kaydin Nelson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bloomfield over Farmington + How To Watch

If Bloomfield was feeling good fresh off their 57-37 takedown of Cuba last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bobcats received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 71-55 to the Farmington Scorpions. The Bobcats have struggled against the Scorpions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Bloomfield lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kaydin Nelson, who shot 86% from the field on his way to 15 points and six boards. Manuel 'Peanut' Chavarria also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Farmington was led to victory by Sataurus Griego and Zander Griego. Sataurus went 8-for-15 en route to 24 points, while Zander dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Zander now owns an excellent 46.3% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Dayton Bizzell, who posted two points and five assists.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Farmington, their record now sits at 7-2.

Bloomfield and Durango will compete for holiday cheer at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats will be up against the Demons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Farmington, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Artesia at 9:45 a.m. on the 29th.
