Softball Recap: Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua Wins Going Away Against Shelby

Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua won the last time they faced Shelby and things went their way on Friday too. The Scotties blew past the Coyotes 16-2. The result was nothing new for the Scotties, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Brynlie Boreson was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Tessa Studheit was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jensina Tweten, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Shelby, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua will take on St. Ignatius/Charlo/Arlee at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Shelby does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
