Softball Recap: Jay Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Jay waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They skirted past the Northview Chiefs 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Royals: when they faced off against the Chiefs two weeks ago, they had to take a 9-5 defeat.

Layna Lowry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Mylee Frazier was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Jay pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Northview, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.

Jay and Northview should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Royals (ranked 17th) will meet Crestview (ranked 206th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Northview will face off against Baker at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (38 vs. 287).
