Football Game Preview: Rockland Bulldogs vs. Abington Green Wave

The Rockland Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Abington Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Friday, Rockland came up short against Norwell and fell 34-22. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Clippers are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, Abington had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five last Friday. They came out on top against the Clippers by a score of 21-14. The 21-point effort marked the Green Wave's lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

This is the second loss in a row for Rockland and nudges their season record down to 3-3. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points over those games. As for Abington, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Rockland lost to Abington on the road by a decisive 38-20 margin in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
