Softball Recap: Midway Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crest Ridge, Midway was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Archie Whirlwinds by a score of 11-7. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 17-2 victory the Whirlwinds walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Madi McClellan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. McClellan was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Dakota Dean was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Keelyn McCuiston also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Midway has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Archie, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Midway will host Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Archie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hume at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
